    Hi all,

Was just hoping someone might be able to help with a relatively minor problem I’ve been having. I’m developing a site at the moment and would like to restrict sections to particular users. Basically I’d like for them to have to log in to verify before they’re in. There seem to be some modules to help with this (user role editor etc.) but I’m having difficulty finding one that will allow users to request an account which I can then approve?

I’m sure this is probably a simple solution but I’be been looking through the forums and can’t seem to find it anywhere (although I’m very new to WordPress so I could just be looking in the wrong places!)

Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Even if it’s just a point in the right direction it’d make all the difference.

    Thanks very much,

    Ryan

  • If you want to make users request access before they are allotted a user id and a corresponding role – then what you are looking for is a registration form. You can build one yourself or try a couple of plugins.

Another approach would be to use a membership plugin that can solve all your woes from registration to content control.

Thanks, that’s great! I’ll install those and should be up and running in no time.

    Thanks for your help!
