• Hi Benaceur

Everything seems to be working fine with this plugin except for restricting usernames. I have tried including just 1 username and also 50 usernames in the list but it allows them to register.

The restricting of partial usernames is working fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks!

The option to restrict the usernames function well, so try to change the theme then disable the plugins one by one, to find the problem or conflict.

@benaceur thanks for getting back to me.

I have disabled all plugins except for two, BuddyPress and Restrict Usernames Emails Characters. However, the restricted usernames are still able to register.

I also tried to change the theme – have tried Twenty Nineteen, Twenty Seventeen, Hestia, Storefront…but it still doesn’t work.

I did find a function on another website which does the same, and this works fine. The problem is that my restricted username list will be huge and your plugin is much more practical.

I tried the plugin with BuddyPress and it works normally, so I can not know that it is the problem or the conflict on your site!

I created a brand new WordPress site and tried again with only installing BuddyPress and Restrict Usernames plugins. It didn’t work again.

However, I have now discovered that only the last entry in the ‘Not allow these names’ section is restricted. Everything above this is allowed to register.

Is there a fix for this yet?
