We were using MLA with the following setup and it was working great for us:

Recently we updated our platform as follows:

After this update now vendors have full access to the Media Library. They can see and attach any media file available in the Media Library. With the old setup, they don’t have access to any other media file. They can only view, access and use their own uploaded media.

If I disable MLA, then vendors can only view, access and use their own uploaded media.

Thanks for your report and for your patience while I was traveling and away from the Internet.

Both EDD and Marketify are premium plugins and I do not have a copy of either. I hope you understand that I cannot afford to purchase premium plugins simply to provide support for my own free plugin.

I have not made any changes to the roles and capability tests from MLA 2.33 to 2.60, but it may be that WordPress has changed its logic between 4.3.1 and 4.8.1. There may have been changes in one of the other plugins as well. If you can give me more information I will investigate further.

You wrote “After this update now vendors have full access to the Media Library.” Is that true from only the Media/Assistant submenu screen? If not, can you tell me which WordPress screens also allow access?

If the problem includes the post/page “Add Media” media manager popup window, have you tried removing the MLA enhancements from that popup window. To do that:

    1. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab.
    2. Scroll down to the “Media Manager/Media Grid Enhancements” section.
    3. Uncheck the “Enable Media Grid Enhancements” and “Enable Media Manager Enhancements” boxes.
    4. Scroll to the bottom and click “Save Changes” to record your new settings.

Let me know if the above option setting changes affect the problem.

Can you tell me what WordPress role is assigned to the “vendors”? If I can reproduce the problem without using EDD or Marketify I can give you more specific help.

Thanks again for your understanding and your patience. Any additional information you can provide will be helpful.

It has been six weeks since my last post in this topic and I have seen nothing further. I assume you have found a solution to the problem you reported.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions about the above suggestions. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
