• hello,

can I allow access to posts (meaning “read”) only to logged visitors? that is if I want to be using WP just among couple people and i dont want anyone else to be able to read that page just by typing its URL. can I have “login” dialog pop up first and then my blog to open? once they would log in, the pass could be safed in browser and they wouldnt be borthers each time visiting…
    thank you!

  • Look at visibility option in edit post, you can set any post to private or password protected.

I found that. Im talking more about the visibility of the whole blog…

plus how does “private” by post visibility option work anyway? with pass protected, its obvious….but who can see private?

I have happily used WordPress for several years but this same issue has been raised time after time after time.

The requirement to have content only visible to logged on users seems a very fundamental omission and is NOT covered by either ‘Private’ or ‘Password’.

I have given up asking but it is the first thing I look for hopefully in every new release.

    It is a big weakness.
