• Hello people,

I’m developping my own blog and while all is going well so far, I kinda hit a roadblock.
I want to have one section of the blog to be private and available to registered users only, while the rest of the blog is wide open to all. Is this possible?
I know you can make viewers register to restrict posting and/or commenting and there are quite a few plugins about that but to make part of the blog private?
Im really not sure how to go about it, if it is at all feasable.

Thanks for any hints, help, recommendation, ideas, etc… ??

  • A quick search through the plugin gallery on here for ‘Members’ brings up many plugins which sound like they will do the job you want. I suggest you start with the first one and work your way down. Having had a quick look at some of the descriptions of the plugins I’m sure you will quickly find one that will work for you. Have fun!

‘Members’… I guess one of my two brain cells was asleep, I never tought of that term to search upon. Thanks for the wake upcall. ??

I am trying to get an internal blog page up for a website. https://finncare.ca/
It would be something employees log into for info and where the company would post documents for staff.. i.e word, pdf.

Been looking at a few ways but stuck with what might be best for my needs

Buddy Press vs a membership plug in?.. looking at wpmu dev membership for 9$ right now… or is there a way that can SECURE a page in the current public blog through categories and add a staff login.

    Wants
    -simple
-ideally use website theme but not a deal breaker
-items must not be searchable on the web as info might be confidential
    -login page

I think I am making this more complicated that it is but any recommendations on a direction to go in to try would be helpful. thanks ??
