Restricting coupon usage by emails not working

I’m working on setting up some coupons for a client and I’m having some difficulties getting them to apply properly. The coupon should only work for specific customers which I am restricting via email.
I have the emails entered into the ‘allowed emails’ section in the format [email protected] separated by commas, but the coupon is still able to be applied on other accounts. I have tested this on my personal account and a non logged-in user on private browsing. In both instances I was able to apply the coupon. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?The plugin has been updated to the latest version and I have purged both my browser and site cache.
