I’m running across an issue whereby I can’t resize YouTube videos to the full width of the page, matching my images.

I note that the demo of this theme showcases a full-width youtube video and wonder if I’m missing something? I’ve tried using the Youtube embed code with a set width of 1200px, along with video post types, but neither seem to work?

    Example: https://andersnoren.se/themes/hoffman/
    My iteration: https://sam.gd/

    Any input would be appreciated.

I’m having the same problem Sam. Love the theme and really want that youtube imbed the way Anders Noren’s example shows. Help?

Adding some insight. I think it’s shown large in the example because it’s a separate blog post. I’m trying to have my youtube embed show up in a static homepage, where I already have a “featured image”.

    Hi guys,

I think you’re actually looking for the same thing that I was asking for in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wide-images-galleries-within-a-post.

Perry, you’re right: you only get the full-width video with the video post format, ergo, if you put your video’s URL into the meta box on the post admin page. It doesn’t seem to work for any shortcodes or images within the post.

I think the solution might be to add a new CSS class like .full-width, but I haven’t found out how to “break” the .section-inner yet without doing any harm to the theme’s responsiveness ??

    Hey Eva,
Thanks for your response. I’m new to the coding aspect of WP although I’ve been using WP.org for some time. So I’m not comfortable making any changes to the themes. Still learning about that. I’m going to follow your linked comment thread/request. Doesn’t seem like he responds quickly or often?

    Thanks for connecting!

Hey Perry are you using the “full width” template?

OMG! It worked papstar! Thank you soon much!

I’m having the opposite trouble. I can’t resize them at all. They are resized in my visual editor but then show the entire width of whichever template I am using (standard or full width). Any ideas?

Hmm, I’m not familiar enough with the template to be definitive, but I wonder if there is a global setting you’re missing?
