• Some time ago I created a plugin, to tell you how many posts there were in archives & search results. I then didn’t get around to changing it for ages, as I had all kinds of other stuff on.

Anyway, it is now properly hosted in the WordPress plugin directory at long last. I’ve just updated it to take into account archive pages for tags in recent versions of WordPress.

Download it from the plugin directory

  • Hey Matt! Thanks for creating this plugin.

    Please see my question here,
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/200402?replies=19#post-845495

The problem is, I have been using versions of this plugin for ages. One time it wasn’t working, and Whooami fixed it, making a temporary spin-off plugin, results-count-updated.

That version works for me, to this day. But your latest 0.3 version does not work right for me. It yields “Showing 0 results for the search terms: light.” (There are actually 43 results not 0).

Any idea for me? I would like to upgrade to get this functionality on category pages.

    Hi

I only just noticed your query.

To be honest, I’m not sure what would be causing the problem, as the problem doesn’t show up for me on the latest version of WordPress with the current version of the plugin. Do you have any plugins installed that would be likely to affect this? What version of WordPress are you running?

I’ve just released version 0.4 of the plugin. This adds the following changes to it:
Alters the text when there is only a single result on the page.
Corrects bug so that the correct text displays when there is only a single page of results.
Displays correct text when a year archive is shown rather than a month.
Tidied up text to fix some grammatical errors.
Various non-critical bugs fixed & old code tidied up.
Comments added in the html output to help error tracing, identifying the code produced by the plugin.

I’ve also made a page on my website specifically for the plugin – something I had never got round to doing originally.

The download page in the plugin directory remains the same:
