• Hi, I made a WP post, labelled with various tags, e.g. #YoYoCollection, but when AP sent the post through to Mastodon, the capitals in the hash tags were gone. e.g. -> #yoyocollection. (In case it’s relevant: I have left the “Add hashtags in the content as native tags and replace the #tag with the tag link.” option unticked.) Whenever I post directly in Mastodon, my tags’ TitleCase is retained. (Example)
Is there any way for the tags to be pushed through whilst retaining their capitalisation, please? It’s good for those using screen-readers, and generally for readability.

(Come to that, I’d much prefer to keep the capitals in my account handles, but that’s another kettle of fish…)

    Thanks,
    Void

    Hey @thevoidtlmb ??

I just ran some tests and it always showed up properly. Is it possible that you already have used the Tag in one of your earlier post and it is already saved as lowercase?

Hi. I’ve only used YoYoCollection tag twice: once yesterday, and once today, both times with caps. Do you mean saved in WordPress, or saved in Mastodon? Clicking the (capital-less)tag in my Masto instance shows only my two posts. At the top of the column showing these posts, the tag is both uncapitalised, then capitalised. But the tags in the posts themselves are uncapitalised. (I’ll post a screenshot and tag you on Masto…)
In my WordPress list of tags, the capitals are shown. Clicking the tag in WP loads all (both) posts with it, and the URL the browser loads,
    https://tlmb.net/blog/tag/yoyocollection/ , has no caps.
Is any of that useful info? ??

hmmm, it seems to be a mastodon issue then, because in the JSON (that the plugin sends) it is CamelCase, like it should be: https://tlmb.net/blog/yo-yo-weight-loss/?activitypub

    Maybe they changed something recently?

Maybe, 4.3 just came out after all. Okay, if it’s not AP, I guess this is closed. Thanks anyway!
