    Hi Stefan,

Do you recommend adding retina sizes to the srcset, and if so should this be done for all image sizes we are using? The reason i’m asking is because on your demo site your images don’t appear to have the @2x retina sizes in the srcset, and i was wondering why that was?

    Hi!
I don’t think retina images is that important. Icons and such graphics looks bad on a retina screen if they isn’t big enough, but the difference is harder to see on photos.
This is my personal opinion though. If retina images is important to you, feel free to add them ??

Ah, that’s what i was wondering about. My theme files are retina by default, but i wasn’t sure whether to make images retina. But if the difference is minor that’s ok.

Just for future reference though, if a retina image size is 2048×2048, would images larger than this still be classed as retina? I ask because if i x2 some of my theme original image sizes eg:

    extra-image-single-post (1280 x 640 px)
    large (1405 x 9999 px)
    largest (1800 x 9999 px)

These would become larger than 2048. So i’m wondering with the examples above would i need to make these @2x or are they already at a high enough resolution?

    For example:
    large (1405 x 9999 px)
    would become:
    large@2x (2810 x 9999 px)

Would this size be ok, or would the resolution be too large?

    Yeah that’s correct.
I think it’s up to you to decide when the images starts to be too large. I would personally not add so large images to my site. The whole point with responsive images is to not make your site slower ??

But if your image really is 1405px wide when displayed on the site, it’s correct that the retina version should be twice the size.

    Removed.
