Retrieve password wont work

  • Hey I forgot my password and when i went to forgot password and entered my email address it stated “your host may have disabled the mail() function…” I never diabled or reset my email address can you help me with this please and thanx ; )

  • You need to talk to your hosting company as WordPress is unable to send emails and therefore you are not able to reset your password.

    Alternatively if you have access to your database using phpmyadmin you could try following this guide Resetting Your Password Through phpMyAdmin

    Ok so I talked to my hosting and they said due to the fact they don’t support wordpress services there’s nothing they can do.. They also stated they never disabled anything.. Mind you, the error said “host maybe disabled” which means its a “possible” reason.. Why can’t someone from wordpress check out my website by going in & seeing if my email function has been disabled or whatever possible reason it maybe. There has to be a solution to this problem.

    have you tried logging in to phpmyadmin, viewing your users database, you could possibly change the admin user in the user database to a different email address then requesting your wp to send you a new password, i did this not long ago its great,

    Is there any other way possible to solve this issue besides phpmyadmin because I dont understand it and im unable to download it.. It seems like someone from wordpress tech support should be able to do something about this =((
