As requested I am starting a new topic, but seeing that a previous thread with the same issue hasn’t been resolved I do not have much faith in Nextgen (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/id-737-retrying-in-30-seconds-host-might-be-throttling?replies=31)

When uploading to Nextgen Gallery I select a folder with images to load into a gallery, 8 images gets loaded and then nothing happens. Going into the gallery and selecting “Scan folder for new images” will add the images and then when it is building the thumbnails I get the error “Retrying in 30 seconds; host might be throttling”

I have to clear the cookies on my browser and then select max 8 images at a time to create new thumbnails.

I have over 1600 images… this is only one gallery… I cannot waste the time to have to select images one by one for every single gallery I add. I purchased the Nextgen Pro plugin to use the ecommerce part, which promised something it cannot deliver!

@hhelmbold – We are aware of this issue and believe it will be sorted out in the next release of NextGEN Gallery. We are looking into the possibility of a pre-release patch as well.

Otherwise, please contact our support team directly with any questions or concerns for NextGEN Pro via your member’s area at https://nextgen-gallery.com/

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

PS: Thanks for starting your own topic, too!

I have been working for day trying to find a way around this issue. Is there anything I can do?

Get rid of Nextgen… alternatively for now you need to select 8 images at a time when updating thumbnails or loading images. Once you get the error – clear your browser’s cookie history and carry on.

@hhelmbold – Thanks for sharing that work-around … you can also use your browser’s developer tools to override this as well. Both solutions are not pretty and we do expect to have this sorted out with the next release.

Asking a question then closing the topic to replies… Pretty ridiculous.

    You said:
“I’m not sure why derailing this topic is so important, I would be more than happy to help you as best I can in your own topic but as it is, this is not your topic; and, I imagine the OP could be getting overwhelmed by all of these non-relevant responses to their reported issue.”

Firstly you derailed the topic with insisting on making duplicate posts for the same problem. You did not show at all that you wished to help.

Secondly, like us, the OP wanted answers. Please do ask him if he was bothered and do not assume. In fact, the OP asked for my help:
“@duce – try Provimi through this thread to describe the profile description. from me probably misunderstood.”

You are the one constantly derailing the topic and moaning that we should create duplicate posts when we are all addressing the same problem instead of helping and coming up with a solution or a workaround in the meantime. Waiting for the next release is unacceptable.

Two of my mails to your support team has also gone unanswered.

But please do reply here and close the topic so that nobody else can reply again.

110% with duce on this one. Photocrati took over Nextgen, now it is changing hands again to a new company, I think it is a hot potato being passed around and that is why we not getting any real support or fixes. “Wait for the new release” is just a way of saying “let’s see if the new people can fix this”.

Why did I get an answer in an individual post but no where in here do I see you actually answering the OP? You expecting us to create several duplicate posts and then people need to go through each one and maybe find an answer to the same problem??

The fact that you cannot see the problem with what you telling us to do, makes us doubt your ability to produce a functioning application.

@hhelmbold – NextGEN Gallery is not changing hands, just brands. We are still the same team behind Imagely.

Any word on when the next release is likely to be?

@chipmunkdesign – We are testing an internal beta version but do not have a timeline for its release yet.

    Thanks!
