    We tried to maintain the old version for as long as we could until it simply became unscalable. More and more users were reporting issues where the dashboard stats wouldn’t work for them (because daily API quota was exceeded).

    In the ExactMetrics rewrite process, we had to make several hard decisions, but we made them with a lot of thought and consideration to ensure the best future for the plugin.

    I wrote a detailed blog post sharing the challenges, and why we had to implement the new authentication flow + changes to the dashboard widget.

    I know that change is hard, but this update was done with the best of intentions.

    I truly appreciate your patience and support through this process as we continue to improve the ExactMetrics plugin.

    I’m closing this review from further comments. The reason is that these are not discussion forums. This review is completely legitimate and the plugin author replied.

    Any further discussion could derail this and frankly could get nasty very quickly.

    Version 6 of this plugin removed functionality. Opensource users of this plugin left feedback and now we have a reply from the plugin author.

    There’s not really anything else that needs to be said on this review.
