is that the case with your front-end posts?

The dashboard has changed in v2 but your existing posts order is preserved and your front-end posts should still retain teh same order.

If you wish to downgrade to the previous version you can do this at the bottom of this page.

just released v2.0.1 which had an issue with the admin js scripts.

However, I’d like to dig deeper into the issues you are facing.

Please note, that the plugin udpate does **NOT”” delete any of your rank data from v1.x which is stored in a custom table.

v2 aspires to move away from the custom table and at times poorly coded v1.x back into the realm of WP core functionality. v2.x ranks are stored in the mta-field table, giving much more flexibility for custom programmatic functionality. It also introduces a dahsboard better suited to manually ordering large lists of posts. So I kindly request to help me out iron out the bugs.

In v2.0.1, any ranks saved under v2.0.0 are deleted (as buggy) and the original rank from v1.x reloaded from the custom table.

    @katcrane,

    New version breaks category population

can you elaborate on this. Are your front-end posts still ordered properly?

So since you are not interested in helping out with the process of open-source development, I am assuming you are happy to continue using v1.8.1 which will continue to work. I am therefore marking this post as resolved. Feel free to open a new one if you need more help.

v2 introduced the following new functionality,
    – grid view for easier management of long lists.
    – customisale item cards to display information required to order them.
    – ability to slide through long lists of posts rather than paginated view.
    – multi-selection multi-drag, shuffling of posts towards the end or start of order.)

In addition, the new verions brings the entire plugin back into the realm of WP core functionality which is important for other plugins to interact with this plugin, possibly build extensions.

NOTE, if you wish to upgrade to v2.x given that you have already upgraded to v2.0.0 and then downgraded to v1.8.1 it is important you first download and install v2.0.1 as v 2.0.0 was buggy. v2.0.1 fixes some DB ranks gone wrong on the v2.0.0 upgrade. From v2.0.1 you can then upgrade to the latest version.

Hello, the latest version doesn’t work at all in my WP 5.2.3
I change the grid for a category but in frontend it is in another order.
Please, can I restore the previous version?

    Hi,

The main feature is to select a category and its order without create a child theme.

    Regards.

yes, read the 3rd post in this thread.

I found a small bug which I have just fixed in v2.1.4 See if that works for you.

If it still not working, get in touch on vrata at syllogic dot in

Would you consider adding an option to let users decide whether they want to sort using Grid or List view? This would reflect how Windows and MacOS work. Grid view is much more difficult and less intuitive. For now, I have restored v1.8.1.

Also consider restoring the old plugin description displayed on the Plugins admin screen. Latest version says: “This is a short description of what the plugin does. It’s displayed in the WordPress admin area.” Now it looks like the plugin development was never finished. Version 1.8.1 said “Arrange Post and Custom Post Type through drag & drop interface of selected category (or custom taxonomies).”

    Thanks!

Possibly, but its not on the my priority list. If you are happy with v1.8 then you can stay on that, it uses no deprecated code that could jeopardise your site, hence its not an issue if your do not update it.

    ok
