• Hi, the website I’m working on is https://NickSmarto.com

When I installed the template, it came with the default widget configuration. I’m speaking mostly of the footer, which used to look like this (the templates preview):

    https://samk.ca/demo/

Notice how the search widgets says extra text like: “Still not finding what you’re looking for? Drop a comment on a post or contact us so we can take care of it!”

However, as wordpress is supposed to do, when I dropped in widgets, it replaced the old, default configuration. When I dropped in my search widget, it is just a plain search box (see https://NickSmarto.com).

The same goes for the blogroll/links widget. My site used to say “A few highly recommended friends…” like the preview site, but when I dropped in my links widget, that text is no longer there.

How can I recover and hopefully edit these so they look like the preview????

    Thanks so much!!!
    N

  • They’re default text when a widget isn’t present.

Remove the widgets from those areas and it will re-appear, if you want to modify it, then you’ll need to dig into the theme files..

That would be my guess anyhow.

I’ve searched how to edit those to no avail, anyone have any suggestions????
