returning users forced to log out

  • Hi all
    When a user returns to my site after being away a while, they see a log out option, and cannot log in before logging out.

    This is odd behavior, the user if their session has been ended should just see a log in option.
    Does anyone have any idea why this is happeneing?
    I am using
    WP / S2Member / Buddypress
