    Hi ??

The plugin has a major weakness that it reuses order numbers (by reseting the order number value back to the latest order + 1) when we cancel and delete orders.

So if I have 3 orders:
    1001
    1002
    1003

And I cancel and delete the most recent ones (ie order 1002 and order 1003), the plugin goes back to order 1001 and says it’s the latest order (making order 1002 the next one) creating conflicts in both the payment system and in the accounting system.

We know how to change the order number to a new and un-used value in the settings of the plugin but it would be very nice if this weakness was fixed permanently.

If it is not the plugin that is doing this resetting (and WC is), the plugin could fix it if it was improved.

Can this be improved in a later version? ??

    Thank you very much ??

I’m glad you’ve been able to find a fix for this issue. I’d love to share your feedback with my product team for further evaluation. Would you mind sharing a few more details about what conflicts you are facing? Which payment system/accounting system are you currently working with?

    All the best,
    Liz

    Hi Liz ??

It is the payment gateways that are conflicting mostly. The ones that can delete un-captured transactions and test transactions do not have this problem because a transaction can be deleted if a buyer has done a new order and did get an old order number.

The bug is also reported in this ticket by another user: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/woocommerce-sequential-order-numbers-plugin-conflict/
