• I’m looking for a recommendation for a plugin / workaround to generate daily/weekly/monthly reporting from my s2member data. I’ve noticed a few threads 1-2 years ago, but they don’t lead to any current solutions. Curious what are other membership site owners using to manage this information?

In a dream world I would find a solution that shows:
    – revenue by affiliate/traffic source
    – revenue by day/week/month with option to compare to prior periods
    – retention reporting
    – lifetime customer value

    Thanks,
    Loralee

  • I have never seen anything related to that since s2M does not have “accounting” capabilities. I have used GoDaddy Bookkeeping for the last 6 months or so (it was called something else when I started) and they have a free version (which is what I use). You might want to look into it. The accounting reports are great. However, that would not give you specific customer information (like stats of retention, and lifetime value).

I’ll follow this thread in case someone else has something to do all that.

Within s2Member settings (API/Notifications > Payment Notifications) you can setup a URL to be notified when a payment transaction is executed. The fields that you can pass are detailed on that page.

Whatever is on the receiving end of that notification (a script) has to be able to handle that data and do with it what you need. You could build as simple or elaborate a billing archiving system, based on that API, as you want.

There’s no out-the-box plugin I know of that can do that, but I don’t suspect it would be a Herculean task for any programmer-for-hire to put together a payment storage system with basic reporting and searching capabilities. The API’s can provide the data, and the programmer will be responsible for properly setting up the database and/or table(s) and providing a front-end for you to query the data stored there.

Keep in mind, this doesn’t have to exist within the WordPress environment as a plugin, within the admin area, or running off WordPress at all. Its data can exist separately.
