It sounds as if you may interested in “Sticky Posts” where the first (or some other) post stays at the top. Most bloggers understand that the most recent post is on top and that is what they expect.
For those people who happen upon your site and do not know that the most recent post is first, you could explain in a “Sticky Post” that if they want to start at the beginning, they can by following a link you put in the post.

I understand that Adhesive creates a sticky post within a category. So if the reader changes categories, then the post will not appear on top.
