• Hi

I am a novice and changed the theme on our website.

I would now like to change it back. Can anyone help me reverse my actions?

  • Under Appearance > Themes, find the theme you were using and click activate on it.

    Hi,

I don’t know what it was as it was done by a “designer”. Is there anyway I can restore the settings say from yesterday? I have tried with my hosting but it has not worked.

    Thanks for this

It’s only possible to restore if you or your hosting company have a full backup of the site files and database?

What’s the site URL? You can probably find a cached version of your site here:

    https://www.cachedpages.com/

Might show info about the theme – look at View Source, click on the link to the style.css file and see what it says at the top.

    https://creatingcalminteriors.com

The above is the url and it appears in the cache.

The hosting have said they’ve restored it but no luck.

Looks like the theme is called “creating calm interiors” but is a modified twentythirteen theme.

The blank white page (you didn’t say that’s what was going on) means that php has crashed on the server. So first thing is to use FTP or Cpanel to deactivate your plugins – find the plugins folder and rename that folder:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

That may allow the custom theme to load. But it’s also possible that there is some error in the theme and you may need to hire someone to sort that for you.
