Don’t delete the old version in WP, you’ll loose a bunch of settings. Just overlay the folder via ftp in Plugins.

The only problem with doing that is the DB upgrade it did when I installed the new version.
I tried installing a “clean” version of the latest WooCommerce via ftp and received an error. It crashed the whole site. So obviously the upgrade through the dashboard was not right or it wouldn’t have made any difference. I assume this is the cause of my issues, but I’m not sure.

I guess I may have to do a clean install and add each plugin back in, including WooCommerce and the extensions I’ve purchased through Woo Themes. I’m not looking forward to that, but I’m not sure what else to do at this point.

    Thanks for the reply.

What was the error the initial upgrade died with?
If you’re going to do the clean install anyway, it won’t hurt to try overlaying the existing version of WOO with an older one and see if that doesn’t bring back the dead…

The error is my payment gateway is not working. I purchased an extension from Woo Themes and so far they haven’t responded to my my request for any assistance with their product. Everything else seems okay, but an e-commerce site isn’t exactly profitable when you can’t process credit cards and customers get an error message when they try.

    Really frustrated here…

If you have a back up of your DB before updating WooCommerce you can. Also, a copy of the older version of WooCommerce. I make a habit of renaming the directory to bak.WooCommerce, or what ever plugin you’re updating as well as doing a DB backup. This one was my bad because I did’t follow my own rules as far as the DB.

It turned out the problem, for me at least, was my payment gateway, not WooCommerce. Actually it was Go Daddy’s, my clients hosting provider, reluctance to update to the latest version of PHP.

I hope you were able to get your cart back up and running.
