reverting back to 5.0.5 ?

  • how can i revert back to 5.0.5 without loosing contact form 7 settings ?

    as everybody found out.. recaptcha v.3 doesnt work and spam is back after updating to the latest contact form7 version

    @zenmagnets You can download a previous version here:

    https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/contact-form-7/advanced/

    Just scroll to the bottom and use the dropdown menu to select the last version.

    If you ever need to do this with other plugins, go to the main download page for any plugin and on the right hand side there’s an option ‘Advanced View’ just above the ratings.

    Installing the old version won’t remove any settings as they’re stored in your DB.

    Could you please let me know how this can be done without losing my current settings?

    I downloaded 5.0.5 and uploaded it but then I got this error below:
    Destination folder already exists.
    Plugin installation failed.

    It seems it will go through if I deleted contact form 7 folder in directory but I think by doing that I will lose all my current settings. Is there a way to do this without losing current data?

    You don’t have to delete the existing files from /plugins/contact-form-7

    Try to upload the downloaded 5.0.5 (unzip) via FTP or through your hosting account and override the existing contact-form-7 folder. Will work.
