Reverting to Duplicator 0.4.6 avoids server timeout errors
-
First of all – Duplicator is a well-crafted and seriously useful tool. Thank you!
Although 0.5.2 has a splendid new interface, I have found it vulnerable to server timeout errors (“Server Error 200” – whatever that means for an Apache server). Reverting to 0.4.6 has avoided the timeout problems and allowed packages and installers to be constructed, which was not possible using 0.5.2 (unfortunately).
I noticed, on a couple of occasions, that although Duplicator 0.5.2 successfully constructed the package and database files (which were found in the wp-snapshots/tmp folder) it had failed to construct the all-important installer file. Using the settings filter to exclude wp-content/uploads brought the build to well below 150Mb (with no large files) but made no difference to the timeout error and subsequent build-failures.
I am now using Duplicator 0.4.6 with no problems.
