I’m guessing that some things like the copyright in the bottom and the categorization will be dealt with later. Apart from that, the picture on the bottom (which is adorable) is hard to see because it’s squished as I see it. Could you put a smaller version of that picture?

The rest is great. The colors are beautiful and so is the title (and that whole area). I hope to see more of your works in the future!

Hmmm…the picture on the bottom? You mean the Toonicorn pencil drawings? Okay, I’ve used the WordPress dashboard to resize that one. Can you tell me if that’s better? (It looked fine on my computer, but then, all of my art did. It wasn’t until I viewed my site on one of the computers at work that I realized that ALL of the art was wayyy too big. Did I mention I’m a newbie at this? ?? So I resized all but the pencil drawings, because I thought, since it didn’t have any color, it couldn’t be too big. Newbie!!!!)

Unfortunately, the pictures still look like they are stretched on my browser (internet explorer). But, the good news is that it looks perfect on Safari.In fact, every drawing looks like it’s the perfect size on Safari. I think that it would also be a good idea to make sure that it’s compatible with other browsers as well.

Also, the categorization is looking good ??

It so happens I have Internet Explorer as well as my default browser, Google Chrome. The blog looks fine in Chrome (also in Firefox, which is the browser we use at work), but holy cow does it look awful in my Internet Explorer! (I have 6.0). The image “Epitaph” looks fine, but everything else looks fuzzy. And the header type, category type and tag type look weird too – as if the actual font was replaced by some lame default font, plus it’s all fuzzy too. I tried resizing my images on my computer and reloading them, but no change is apparent in Explorer. Whoa, what a mess. Maybe I ought to go to the troubleshooting forum and ask for help, huh?

There is no doubt that you are a talented and creative artist! Good concept and well executed. The color scheme is also visually appealing.

You might want to update the data in the footer. Also, as the site grows, you might want to put the category links in the menu at the top … most folks are accustomed to top-based navigation.

Okay, Toonicorn. Let me update … you also write with an interesting style of humor!

Since you’re just getting started, it’s a great time to get folks to view your creative art/writing projects.

First, it’s a good idea to include more tags on a post like this. You might want to add “ugly trees” and “artist morgue”. The idea with tags is for them to be terms visitors might search for … either on your site or through a search engine.

Here are some tips to get more traffic from the web. First, submit your site to:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

Then, you could use the following tool to automatically create sitemaps and submit them each time you publish a new post. This is particularly important for a new site, such as yours.

Also, you might consider the “All in One SEO Pack” plugin. You can get it here:

I’m not associated with any of these three tools other than being a delighted user. The Google service and these two plugins are free … and fairly easy to implement. The three together can help move your site up in the search listings rather quickly … to get more visitors.

There’s a LOT more you can do to get traffic and measure it, but this is a good way to get started.
