• Hi Support,

    In the notification email (Notification template) the tag: {review_categories} does not work

    The rest of the TAGs used do show the corresponding value when a Review email is sent or received.

    {review_rating}
    {review_title}
    {review_content}
    {review_author}

    Is there a problem with the syntax of that tag?

    {review_categories}

    Regards

    Can you verify that the review with the title, “Felicidades por el Curso” has been assigned to a Site Reviews category?

    (@gnumax)

    Hi Gemini Labs,

    The text “Felicidades por el Curso” is the {review_title} TAG, is not {review_categories}

    The problem is {review_categories} TAG empty.

    Regards.

    The problem is {review_categories} TAG empty.

    I understand, but the {review_categories} tag will only work if the review has actually been assigned to a category. If a review is not assigned to a category, then the tag will be empty.

    Please confirm that the review with the title, “Felicidades por el Curso”, has been correctly assigned to the category that you are expecting to see in the notification template.

    Hi Gemini Labs,

    The title field is shown well in the received email, the Category field, whose TAG is {review_categories} appears EMPTY in the received email.

    I am still unable to reproduce this, both on my local testing site, and on the demo site here: https://site-reviews.staging.skybox.one/product/

    If you like, you can also submit a test review on the demo website. If you enter a working email in the review form, you should receive a copy of the notification.

    Would you please use the “Contact Support” section on the Help page to send me:
    1. The Site Reviews System Info
    2. The Console log (if it has entries)
    3. Please include a file with any custom code that you are using that is related to Site Reviews

    That may help to figure out what is going on.

    Hi Gemini Labs,

    New Reviews enter if associated Category, empty.

    https://monosnap.com/file/etYuS73Z9Ixbnu4FEGLOePJsuOiJSM

    This has been the case since the new plugin update was released almost 2 months ago.

    I tried to do a rollback but it didn’t work because the changes were applied, in your update, also at the database structure level.

    1.

    I tried to do a rollback but it didn’t work because the changes were applied, in your update, also at the database structure level.

    Site Reviews v5.0 stores reviews in dedicated database tables. This is different from version 4 which used the postmeta database table to store the review information.

    For this reason, reviews submitted in version 5 will not work in version 4.

    However, any reviews that were submitted in version 4 will continue to work if you rollback to version 4.

    2.

    New Reviews enter if associated Category, empty.

    This is why the {review_categories} tag is empty. If the category is not being assigned to the review when it is created, then the notification (which is triggered when a review is created) will not contain the category.

    Adding the category to the review after it has been created will not fix the notification as the notification will have already been sent.

    3. It sounds like this problem is related to your previous support topic, “After 5.0.0 update I have lost functionalities

    I closed that topic as it seemed that you had abandoned it.

    However, if the problem in that topic is fixed, then this problem will be fixed also.

    4. Finally, if you want my help to fix your problem, then you will need to send me a file (or a pastebin link) with the custom functionality that you are using to modify Site Reviews.

    I have asked you to send this to me a couple of times, but if I do not receive it, then I cannot help you to fix it.

    Please also re-read my reply to your previous topic here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/after-5-0-0-update-i-have-lost-functionalities/#post-13640433
