Revision History

  • How do I recover a previous version of a post? The current version was overwritten with an earlier version, loosing me many hours work. I can’t find anywhere on WordPress to look at revision history. Neither version was published, they were saved as drafts.

    In Admin, revision history is shown below the edit.

    If you dont see “Revisions” panel, check your “Screen Options” and make sure it’s enabled

    Thanks for the quick reply. Recent Drafts is showing but not revisions. It’s not an option from the Screen Options. Recent Drafts only shows the last saved version.

    I just checked one of my sites where my revisions were not showing. Revisions IS on Screen Options. But I did have to check it once while in a post and once while in a page to activate it for both.

    Yes – that’s correct. Post and Page screen options are stored separately.

    Problem fixed when I upgraded. Screen options magically reappeared. The wonder of the web.
