Revisions show up on site, but not "Edit Post" page.

  • My most recent blog changes (in the last 24 hours) to a few blog posts show up on my public-facing blog posts (www.byrdnick.com/blog) and on my own “Compare Revisions Of…” page, but not my “Edit Post” page. Take this post for example:

    I need to make edits to a few pages, but the edit page does not seem to have access to the most recent version of my blog posts, so I cannot edit the pages properly.

    What can I do to get the “Edit Post” page to show the most recent changes to my blog posts?

    (I read the 4.6 forum welcome, tried all of the recommended troubleshooting before posting this, and looked through 4 pages of posts to see if someone else had already posted this problem.)

    Hi Nick!

    Is there more content when you try using the Text editor tab. Are you using any caching plugins, performance plugins? I know there are some performance plugins that delete revisions.

    Hi Jose!

    (1) The text editor matches the “Edit Post” page (except with code/markup).
    (2) No caching plugins.
    (3) I’m using WordPress optimize, which deletes old revisions once a week. But I’ve been using that for months without this issue.

    I am able to fix a post by doing the following:
    1. go to the public-facing page, copy the text
    2. go the the “edit post” page and paste the text (and fix some of the markup that was lost in the copy/paste process)
    3. Click “update”

    Only then does the “Edit Post” page show the most up-to-date post.

    I cannot realistically do this with all the posts I edited recently though so hopefully there is another fix.
