    Hi Team,

Yoast support asked me to create a post regarding my issue.

I have a puzzler dealing with the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin. I’m using a recipe plugin called WP Tasty and when I put a recipe into the “Rewrite and Republish” status and update content/words in the recipe card (so not the body, just the recipe card data), and hit update in the recipe card (not that “Republish” option)…that content is suddenly live on my site.

I’m expecting that content to be live only when I hit that “Republish” option. So not sure what’s happening here. I did a conflict check and reproduced this on a staging site too. So it doesn’t seem related to any other plugin (besides Tasty Recipes) or theme. All related plugins and themes are updated.

I have some screenshots below that highlight this.

    A) Recipe title on front-end: https://ibb.co/2Sd5vkt.

    B) Put post into “Rewrite and Republish” status: https://ibb.co/wgpKTHK.

    C) Edit the recipe card in that status (I added some text like “1111” to the title) and then hit update in the card: https://ibb.co/pfRFYVs.

    D) See that the changes appear on the front-end…even though I never hit that Republish button: https://ibb.co/L6Q4K3Z.

    Tech Specs
    WordPress Core: 6.0.3
    Yoast Duplicate Post: 4.5
    Yoast Free: 19.8
    Yoast Premium: 19.3
    Tasty Recipes: 3.7.3
    Theme: 2020 v1.2

Can you guys take a look at this and let me know if this is a bug or ???. If you need a copy of WP Tasty, let me know and I can work with your team to provide a copy.

  • I just created a thread that might be related. I think the plugin is duplicating URLs instead of (properly) designating the new posts with a “-2” after the URL. Then WordPress takes the old post and goes to the new one immediately.

We’ve been seeing this particularly after hitting the Republish button, but perhaps the confusion happens early on Draft.

@edibletimes We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

Would you please be able to provide us with a copy of the WP Tasty plugin for testing purposes, so that we can check into this further?
