rewrites_not_working – no rewrite code added to htaccess file

I installed the plugin and all the images are converted properly (available in the /wp-content/webp folder

But there is no code added in the htaccess file.
The server configuration shouldn’t be the problem, I used the plugin for another project without any problems.

Is there a way to regenerate the htaccess code?
Or is there a defautl htaccess configuration, I couldn’t find one online?
