rfe: max file size to scan
-
Hello,
I imagine a quick query of your scan databases could tell you, but how often is malware found in large (say >150MB) files? I suspect with the exception of backup archives, not very often. Would you add a “max file size” setting to wordfence so that it will completely bypass scanning of very large files?
Background story: a webhost I’m helping has a bad combination of lots of wordpress sites creating backup files with updraft and also running wordfence scans; some of the backup sets are quite large and wordfence scans not only don’t complete, but are really affecting server performance. While you can add exclusions for that, it comes to mind that a generic max file size setting might be very useful for various scenarios. And after troubleshooting their newest server and finding their largest wordpress site somehow got it’s exclusion list reset so that it is again scanning gigabytes worth of updraft backups, I thought I’d request this feature. ??
Thanks!
