• I’m having one or two problems with two blogs that I run.

Firstly, on one blog I can’t actually switch between ‘visual’ and ‘html’ – only visual is selected but it displays the html buttons instead and I can’t click to change between the two. I’ve followed everything that’s been mentioned on this site before, but to no avail (turning off WYSIWYG editor etc).

Secondly, on my other blog the social bookmark images don’t display (I’m using Sociable) and neither do the images in the rich text editor – the ones that have bold, italic etc on them.

Anyone got any ideas or solutions that I may have missed? Thanks.

  • I’m having an issue with Sociable images also. I’m not sure what the cause of the issue is, but in firefox I get the images alt text instead of the icons and they’re in a list rather than in rows and columns like how the image icons display when the plugin was working fine. AND in IE I get image place holders instead of the icons. By image place holder I mean a blank image with an X in the top left signifying the image couldn’t load.

I already deactivated, deleted then redownloaded, reuploaded and reactivated Sociable. I restored my blog from a local backup. I restored my database… All to no avail, I still get no icons.

If anyone has a solution to this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Found the Culprit.

I had added a .htaccess file to my plugins directory to hide what plugins I was using from hackers.

The full text of the .htaccess was “options -index” which is to prevent the folder from listing it’s content when called up by a browser.

On renaming that .htaccess Sociable was working fine again, the images displayed.

I got to missing the text as I feel it helps dramatically in recognizing the sites. Those tiny icons aren’t so easy to scan when you have more than a handful of them.

So I went into the sociable.php and put $sitename before the line of script that calls the images. So now my blog shows the social bookmarking sites name, then the icon.

I think it looks pretty cool.

Let me know what you think. You can check it out at https://www.lamegame.name
