Hello. I have made a couple of threads with the rich text editor and it was working fine for the past couple of days. However, after customizing the forum and purchasing the “embeded” plugin, I noticed that my rich text editor has been replaced with a horrible text editor that’s worse than notepad. Do you have any sugguestions on how to fix this issue?

    Hi @hemdom,
What customization have you done? Please navigate to Dashboard > Users > Your Profile admin page and make sure the “Disable visual editor” option is not enabled (checked):

Also, please try to deactivate recent installed / updated plugins. If you have a cache plugin, please delete all caches.

The “Disable visual editor” option is already not enabled (checked).
I have disabled the plugins and deleted caches and it still doesn’t work

Do you have any other suggestions? I was hoping to release this forum before christmas so I can surprise my members with this new forum. I love the plugin, just been crashing a lot for me recently. ??

Not sure if this will help, but I noticed that my wordpress top bar is not showing at the top either. it only works when I’m in /wp-admin .

Could you please leave a screenshot of the editor?

Ok, now I see what’s going on. You’ve customized your theme footer.php and removed the main template tag <?php wp_footer() ?>

This template tag is used by almost all plugins to load JS files in footer. One of those JS file is the TinyMCE Rich editor JS file. Now it doesn’t exist because you’ve customized and removed the standard footer function. I think you’ve replaced the theme footer template file with the forum template file. It’s not correct. wpForo footer template file doesn’t have theme functions and features.

Please revert those back, make sure you have the <?php wp_footer() ?> function in your footer template file. If you’ve removed the footer template file, please revert it back.

Next time we’ll not be able to help you. This kind of customization cannot be supported. You’ve damaged your theme and all wpForo JS functions.
