• OK So I started with this pre-created 3 column theme (the girly 3 column one).

I created two themes from it — one for The Weekend Chef and Nothing Tastes As Good. Both look fine on my PC in IE6 and Firefox.

However, it’s come to my attention that The Weekend Chef has a problem with the center column dropping down to below the right and left columns. The CSS for both looks remarkably similar outside of color changes and some special div work for different categories on The Weekend Chef. Nothing Tastes As Good appears fine.

I need some advice as to why. I’m begging for help and trying to look cute doing so. ??

Here‘s the CSS for The Weekend Chef and here‘s what it looks like on a Mac.

This is just boggling my mind. I’m guessing it’s the category divs at this point.

    Thanks in advance.

Hmmm…I’ve gone over and over it all…I’ve deactivated the nifty corners on the recipe divs, but I can’t check on how it looks on a Mac because I’ve maxed out on iCapture for the day. If someone could just check The Weekend Chef for me on a Mac and let me know if it’s still slipping?

I’ll be both relieved and annoyed if that fixed it. ??

    TIA!

Nope, your main section is still showing up below the category div. It looks about 75px too long.

OK…I’ve changed the width and margins on the content (middle) column to be percentages rather than specific pixels. If this doesn’t fix it, I may have to do a complete redesign. *sigh*

Fortunately, I’ve learned a lot in the last month or so about CSS…still it’s disheartening as I really thought I was done with that one. ??

Apparently I’m still maxed out on iCapture. Hmmmm…

Well you fixed the background issue, where the main content wasn’t white, however it still is below the categories. The problem looks to be that your right column is too far left, or your entire container is too small. I’ll see if I can get it to work for you later tonight.

Just for fun, try making the overall content div 10% wider (meaning the actual main container, not the center div) and see what happens?

OK So, now what I’ve done is create a wrapper just for the left column and the middle content. (Saw this done on a CSS sample site.)

Could someone check how it looks on a Mac? It appears to be o.k. in Windows IE and Windows Firefox, but then those weren’t the problem. ??

    Looks fine in Safari

It works! It looks good in Explorer and Firefox.

Thanks, y’all! I’ll have to go make a note of that somewhere and make the change to the other 3 column blog too.

This has been a learning experience to say the least. ??
