• I’m new to WordPress and css but so far I’m not having much trouble at all. That is until I ran into a major issue while testing my site with IE.

Here’s a URL with a page that is having the problem
    https://bomb-omb.com/content/

Here’s a URL to my CSS file for that theme
    https://bomb-omb.com/content/wp-content/themes/bomb-omb1/style.css

If you’re in IE the right sidebar blissfully screams down to the bottom of the page for no apparent reason. In FireFox and Opera it’s perfect.

I’ve tried adjusting various margins and paddings for each of those 3 boxes (I think). The problem is I can’t figure out which one is actually for the right sidebar. (noob)

I also tried shortening the content of that right sidebar but still it jumps.

I am using a modified theme based off of Fluidity3c 1.0 by Kaushal Sheth. It’s a 3 collum theme.

IE is driving me mad. I’ve spend hours trying to fix this by myself and by reading similar problems in this forum and on other sites but I’m getting no where.

(I know you like hearing bad things about M$ so I’ll also tell you that I also spent 3 hours today trying to M$ Word to hold format within itself $@#!)

  • You can’t c & p from Word or any rich text editor. Too much extraneous code to deal with. Use a basic editor like Notepad or at least c & p from Word into Notepad 1st to strip crap tags added.

I know how to fix this!

As a web designer by hobby, I find myself constantly fighting with IE to render margins correctly.

When I change values to suit IE, I find that Firefox is now all messed up. There is a way to fix this and it is called the star conditional selector. Rather than explaining it here, I posted about it on my blog a few days agao:

    https://www.atmymost.co.uk/internet/star-conditional-selector.php

    Hope this helps.

Thank Alys. I’ll look into setting up a seperate IE.CSS file that IE could use while all the other browsers could use the normal one, which is going to be fun I’m sure.

In the mean time, if someone else has a solution please post it here. I’ll also be back after I solve my issue and post how to do it so someone else who has the problem can get some anwsers. : /

Egh. I seriously cannot tell which one of these (refer to URL to CSS sheet) is for the right sidebar. I’ve never really done anything with CSS and this is from a theme someone made.

It does have labels and notes in it tho. Could someone point me in the right direction here?

I’ve decided just to move the rightside bar to some other location. It’s not worth my time.
