.rnd file created on “reload data”

  • Hi we have a question which might also happen to others.

    We have several websites on multiple servers and using IWP to maintain the plugins.

    We have the issue that “.rnd” files are generated in the webroot and /wp-admin.
    We found out that the file in the webroot is created everytime the iwp “reload data” from the site.

    Is this some kind of “storage file” where plugins versions are stored?
    What`s strange is that the file is only created on 3 Servers and on another Server not.
    The only difference which we found that those affected servers are using PHP 7.2.24-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 where the server which were the files aren’t created is running PHP 7.0.33-0ubuntu0.16.04.7.

    The issue also happens on sites with only “minimal” count of plugins. So we are pretty sure that it isn’t caused by some other plugins.
