So the current version and series is 1.0.10 of the 1.0.x series. (5/9/2014)

I have a current Roadmap for versions that I wish to announce and a list of ToDos and Goals

    1.1.x

    • A)Have all base optional plugins working flawlessly with the Core
    • B)Allow for Crons to have the jQuery editable table I made for the Levels
    • C)Decide of I want to reintegrate the wpRPG_User_Meta back into WP_Usermeta (This has some advantages and disadvantages)
    • D)Create an Automatic Page maker with the ShortCodes (Semi Auto since I want this to be a click of a button/optional thing)
    • E)Take out as much hardcoded HTML as possible, this should be controlled by the Admin’s themes
    • F)Expand on Options/Settings to include Output Messages, Enable/Disable functions, etc

    ToDo
    1.0.11-12

    • Compelte D and B

    1.0.13-14

    • Start on E and F

    1.0.15-1.1

    • Complete A and C

    Goals
Around the 1.1 series, I want to start focuses my time on creating more optional plugins based on the suggestions I’ve already recieved. Current thoughts I’ve had were:

    • Single Player PVP. You’re a player whose just Fighting other players and gaining XP, Gold, etc to be used with ingame purchases (Items/Weapons) and ranking up. Simple PVP
    • More Indepth RPG game: You’re a Knight (Wizard, Elf, whatever, your site’s theme will decide) sent by your Castle’s leader to scout, attack, etc other Castles and their knights (PVP). You’re not just taking care of yourself, but you’re ranking up through your castle and later can have more advance things like Allies.
    • Army-Sized PVP, instead of being a single player in your game, you’re the leader of your empire and you have soldiers, civilians, and workers to tend to. Finances and Resources are just as important as Size and Strength of your Army
    • Virtual Card Trading Game: Think Pokemon/Digimon, but you make your cards with, and the key is to build your deck. Not much of PVP, or anything, but still could work for some sites.

All the plugins are base ideas that can expanded upon with site Themes and provide a base for further plugin development.

Goal of wpRPG still is the same: provide a BASE engine that others can build games off of using WordPress. Since it’s still young, my hope is to get more Programmers to sign on, but it’s evident that I’ll have to create alot of base inspiration so that it’s plug and play for other non-programmers to start with. That’s not a problem just means slower development. 90% of WordPress people are, IMO, Web Admins and not Web Developers. So I’ll take care of most of the engine/game they just need to design it.

I should have a major update coming in the next day or so to the core, moving it to the 1.1 series. While not all of the points given have been completed per-say, the changes are noticable, stable, and provide for an easier integration of other plugins. Soon in the coming weeks I want to separate the classes to things like “Core”, “Players”, “Plugins”, etc to be extended and utilized as needed. Extending just the wpRPG isn’t always needed, and some things aren’t going to be related with others. Plugins might not need any Player functionality, and it’s getting quite harder to track down and diganois some issues as they arise. This will compartmentize a lot of the code for future uses.
