    Hi,
You’ll see that the robo gallery is inactive and therefore not displaying a gallery, instead just the shortcode. When active, not only does the gallery not display, but all content of any page where a gallery is embedded disappears, and the page is blank.

I recently updated the PHP to 7.3 to solve issues with other plugins. This is the only thing I can think caused the new error.

Can anyone confirm with what versions of PHP the Robo Gallery plugin will work with?
Is there something else that could be causing the issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @aniemczyk ,

We have tested current gallery version with PHP 7.3.5 and looks like everything looks ok. All test we do with enabled WP_DEBUG mode, but everything works ok without any notices or warnings.
Could you please here some details. Which exactly wordpress version do you have ? Which gallery version do you use ?
Do you see some notices, warnings, errors ? Where exactly do you see this notices, in the case if you have some.
Please make sure that robo gallery enabled in plugins manager after updates.

Thank you for your response. It’s possible that a WordPress core update was the reason for the issue. I just did an update and it is appearing at this URL:

Hi, Things are still looking pretty wonky, albeit, better than before. The galleries are working on some pages, not others. There are also green and pink borders on the gallery that look to be part of a debug CSS file?

I’ve left the plugin active so you can properly test.

    Example of borders: https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/healthcare/
    https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/

Example of blank page because of gallery: https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/tenant-improvement-projects/

    WordPress version 5.5
    RoboGallery version 2.8.18
    RoboGallery Key version 1.3

Also worth noting – When trying to update RoboGallery to 2.8.34, I’ve been getting the following message : “An error occurred while updating Robo Gallery: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. cmb2/fields/shadow”

I’ve fixed this issue with several plugins in the past. I reset the permissions and even contacted my host to do the same. Nothing seems to work this time. Is there a way to update the plugin effectively?

Thanks again! I really need to get the showcase pages back up on the website. And having the galleries active isn’t allowing me to do that.

Looks like database of the wordpress right now do not work at all.

Anyway this problem which you described not actually related with gallery workflow. Plausible that the reason on server permissions. If you do had such problems in the past looks like it’s could happen again.

Don’t you have any plugins which modify permissions or works as security tool, such type of the plugins also could be a reason of such behavior.

You could try to replicate your website on fresh wordpress installation. Just make some content and plugins backup. Create fresh installation with proper permissions settings and restore step by step plugins and content from backup. I guess that it’s only one way to find the reason of such permissions problem.
When you gonna install new wordpress you’ll have to modify permissions for the new folders to make it work properly and after that restore of the backups shouldn’t brake it down.

Please try and let me know.

Hi, Thank you for your response. With some more updates, most of the galleries are working as normal. The PHP version is now 7.4.

There is still one gallery that is causing bugs on the page.

    Working : https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/
    Working : https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/industrial-projects/
    NOT working : https://missionconstruction.com/project-showcase/tenant-improvement-projects/

What would be the reason one gallery is not working? I have tried to create a brand new page with the same gallery shortcode, and it still did not appear.
    Thanks!

I have PHP 7.4 version and all my galleries works properly. Maybe you have some cached gallery and as result it’s looks different then you expect it.
Few months ago I had such problem with robo gallery few pages have gallery design which was incorrect. I mean theme of the gallery was modified but on page it was looks like previous gallery theme. I just tried to disable gallery cache.

After update RoboGallery to 3.0.0 it’s start acting strange.

Can I create only 4 galleries which I see on top of the new gallery popup?

In my gallery problem is sorted. On another server with PHP 7.3 everything’s ok!
