The page shown in the link will behave perfectly normally and the gallery will display all the images correctly. The problem is that, except for small galleries it’s impossible to re-order the images or even identify them when going to Edit Gallery – Manage Images.

Only the most recent images show in Manage Images. Typically the bottom 2 or 3 rows have thumbnails but anything before that is represented by blank squares. I asked for help from within the plugin and attached screenshots showing the problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The reason could be in images file names. On screenshot I see file name of selected image and it’s have some special characters in title. Plausible, in the case if another files have some spaces or special characters in file names gallery do not able to detect it properly. It’s actually not only gallery problem , but general how wordpress media manager works. In the case if you have complicated filenames try to replace gallery images by images with simple filenames with regular characters. Please try and let me know.

Thanks for your answer. I’ll start with my Morningside gallery which only has 87 photos but displays the problem.

Hopefully regular characters include _ – i.e. underscore, space and dash.

The WordPress Media Library displays all such files ok. I’ve never seen a blank rectangle in the library. I’ve added two photos to the Morningside gallery with underscores and dashes in their filenames and they appeared normally.

Interestingly, when I dragged a new entry’s thumbnail further up the Manage Images page to put it nearer the beginning, the act of dragging it caused one or two more thumbnails to change from blank to normal. I went back a few minutes later but when I tried this again the blank squares moved out of the way of the thumbnail I was dragging with the mouse but nothing else happened.

I tried disabling all othe plugins – no difference.

I’m having this exact same problem. I’ve also noticed that the blank thumbnails also show no information about the image when clicked on. It’s like the file doesn’t exist, but I can see it in normal Media Library view.

We finally have solution, sorry for some delay.

Next week we have plans for new release and this fix will be included to this gallery release.

If someone wish please contact us directly and we’ll share files with fix for manual modification (temporary if you don’t wish to wait for gallery release).

This bug related with latest changes in wordpress core files of the media manager and it’s impact to our gallery resources such a strange way.

You can download fix from here: https://robosoft.co/robogallery/thumbnails_fix.zip
Inside this package you can find script.min.js

    Please open this folder:
    wp-content\plugins\robo-gallery\cmb2\fields\gallery\js

and make backup copy of your current script.min.js after that just upload to this folder script.min.js from this zip.

After that clear cache of the browser and reload page with gallery and gallery media manager. I hope it’s gonna help. In our test locations it was helpful all gallery thumbnails looks as usual.

We’re really appreciate some feedback here.

Thank you so much for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience.

This fix seems to only help on a few dozen or so images within a gallery of a couple hundred. What is the next solution moving forward?

The only way for me to get those blanks to show is to go back to “Add to Gallery” and then scroll through 2,000+ images.

@theninthgates which exactly version of the gallery do you have ? Did you install latest updates, namely Gallery version 3.0.0+ ?

    Plugin Author robosoft

    (@robosoft)

@speters150 Please install updated gallery version 3.0.0+

From version 3.0.0 this fix included in core gallery code.

After the update, the issue is none of my library will load. So now I cannot make additions to it nor do some of the settings that are enabled show on the front end (eg link button, root label).

@speters150 could you please create separate ticket for this issues and we’ll help you to sort all of this problems one by one.

Please create another one ticket here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/robo-gallery/ with description of the issues which you have in your gallery after update.

Please post there also some additional info: your gallery version, wordpress version and php version.

I actually installed and paid for plugin with name Robo Gallery with version 3.02
    Is it the latest one?

I also opened a ticket with number of #03308, and still looking for your reply. Thank you.
