robots.txt gone after update

    Hi all,

    With the recent update of the Yoast SEO plugin, I can’t find the robots.txt editor for the life of me.

    Normally the robots.txt editor would be under tools and then the file editor, but I don’t see the file editor anymore.

    The only things I see listed are the things you can see on the screenshot below. Is there anyone who can tell me how I can go about editing the robots.txt in the newest version of the plugin?

    Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. With the recent plugin update, we don’t expect the File Editor feature to be missing. Yoast SEO, by default, uses the robots.txt file that WordPress creates dynamically. You or your server admin can override the dynamic file by adding a custom robots.txt file at the same server path.

    When you’re ready to edit the file, Yoast SEO includes the ability to?create and edit the robots.txt?file for your site when your site meets the following requirements:

    1. Enable file editing, which is the default option for most WordPress installs
    2. Set server-level permissions to allow writing to files, specifically the robots.txt file.

    You can create or edit the robots.txt file in the WordPress admin under Yoast SEO > Tools > File editor. If you do not see the option to create or edit the file, WordPress has disabled file editing, or your server doesn’t allow writing to the file. Your web host can help you enable these features if you want to use Yoast SEO to edit the robots.txt file. Alternatively, you can always create or edit the file at the server level.
