Robots.txt not updating in Google

    I received notification from Ahrefs that my robots.txt file was showing a 404 error.

    I have cleared the cache, checked the robots.txt file in Yoast, and submitted to Google on their tester. I have done this several times over the last few days. However, it will not update and continues to show an old date of “Latest version seen 04/23/23”

    I have not added any new plugins to my website, so I can’t understand what has changed.

    Any advice please.

    Hello @superbsalt

    Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. It’s unclear why Ahrefs has an issue with your robots.txt file since it loads fine in the broswer. You should reach out to Ahrefs support because there’s nothing wrong with that file.
