robots.txt?????

  • i just signed up for the google webmasters tool and its says:

    “URLs restricted by robots.txt: 22”!

    y? i never made a robots.txt, does wordpress make one when you install??where is it so i can edit it!

  • No, WordPress does not contain or create a robots.txt file.

    However, I’d be curious to know what you have selected at Settings -> Privacy.

    its funny you asked that becuase yesterday i was look through that and saw ti was set to: “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors”

    i have no idea why it was set to that!? but i changed it immediately to:”I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers”
