Robustness of Audience page
-
Hi,
Earlier I wrote that I had seen some unexpected behaviour on the Email Subscribers backend GUI and that I might want to let you know. Most of this is not very serious, but you might want to consider it anyway because it influences people’s impression of the quality of your software.
What follows is all about the Audience page
1. In my Audience page I see that I have 448 contacts (“items” – oh well…), split up over 3 pages. Each page shows 200 contacts. In the Screen Options at the top of the page you can specify a different number of contacts per page (showing the number 100), but that does not work. No matter what you fill in, it remains 200 items per page. It would be nice to be able to specify a (much) larger number, but if you do not want that (and while it is not working), you should hide it. WordPress allows you to do so, I think using the screen_options_show_screen filter.
2. Underneath the page heading is a warning about WP Cron being disabled. That is correct; my ISP prefers that I use a real cron-job, so that’s what I do and it works perfectly. So I want to get rid of this warning, but clicking the link “OK, I Got it!” has no effect. Don’t you believe I really got it?
3. On the Audience page, I select a list and press Search Contacts. I see that the list contains 250 contacts, split up over 2 pages (logically). I want to see the second page, so I press the right arrow (>) button. I then get a new page, but it is not the second page of my list; it is the second page of All Lists!
4. Just as before, but now I go to the next page not by clicking the arrow button, but by entering a number 2 in the box between the left and right arrows. That works, interesting enough; now I get page 2 of the selected list!
No need to send me an extensive answer; I just hope this is of some help for you. As I wrote, this is all not really serious, but it does not help giving the impression that this is mature software. Marketing, you know ??
