Rogue hidden Advertisement with plugin staying back

  • Hi,

    I had the misfortune of implementing this plugin “Simple Popup Manager” at my website.

    Shockingly whenever you clicked the Popup closing button an advertisement opened in additional window.

    I didn’t like this and therefore, I removed the plugin and thought it was the end of it.

    However, this was only the start of the nightmare, now I do not have any popup at my website but still on visiting my website if you click on the background, the same advertisement gets opened.

    This is a malware in disguise of a plugin and I have requested help from its developers at

    I am a complete newbie in website making and was under the illusion that plugins made life easier. I wonder how WordPress let this plugin feature in their website officially?

    If anyone can help me remove the advertisements I will be much obliged. If not then at least my fellow bloggers would be aware of this malware plugin.
