• Scenario :

My website is a informative/ content base. I will give my client the role of a contributor and allow themself to edit the content of that particular page which was assign to them on their own.

After client complete their changes that they wish to made, the changes will be save as a revision and await for the admin to approve. After admin have approve the new content, it will be updated to the current content.

    Problem:

Currently, i am using elementor pro as my page builder. Elementor have release a new function called the role manager. What this function does is to give different role the ability to use elementor to edit their post. I also used a plugin to enable my client (Contributor) to edit a published post.

However, problem comes in when i give the rights to use elementor to my client( Contributor). Although, he is able to edit the content using elementor, he is also able to “Update” the content directly. This defeat the purpose of the role of cobtributor.

    Any Solution:
Is there any form of solution/plugin whereby system is able to detect that when role = contributor, whatever form of changes it’s made in elementor, instead of updating the changes directly to the LIVE SITE , it will always be save as “pending for review” so that admin(me) is able to screen through the changes and approve accordingly.

  • Just curious here. You call this person that is updating the site a “client”. Did you make the website for this client? If so what is the purpose of you having to approve updates to their website?

Actually i am trying to make the website and the “client” will be managing one of the page from the website from their end.

The purpose of me wanting to approve their updates is so that they do not upload any form of “illegal” contents and make sure clients do not amend the page layout in some way or another. Their ability is jsut to change the content( text and images) that’s all

Actually i have found a plugin which might solve my case if i integrate it properly.
I chance upon this particular article. https://www.aurigait.com/submit-page-changes-for-reviewer-in-beaver-builder-wordpress/ and this article reflects the issue i am facing. If anyone of you here somehow understand the code there and have an idea if we could implement into elementor that would be real great..

You might take a look at Postie, authorized users can add content from a simple email. I am not sure if there is an option to require Admin approval.
