When I activate the ‘Roles Editor’ option in ‘General Settings’, every user of every role is able to view and edit the capabilities of their own and every other role. There needs to be a set of capabilities added that an administrator can use to enable only other administrators to view and edit user roles.
There is a third-party ‘User Role Editor’ plugin, which has this functionality, and currently I’m having to resort to using this instead.
I’ve also tried using plugins such as ‘Adminimize’ to hide that ‘Roles Editor’ page from the Dashboard menu, but for some reason ‘Roles Editor’ persists and can’t be hidden.

    Hello @kense20xx,

The Roles Editor page and it’s actions are gated using the manage_options capability. So only users with this option will ever see the page and will be able to use any of the functionalities from it.

I suspect that your particular issue is caused by something else. Please follow the instructions from this topic and run a plugin conflict test.

If that doesn’t help you, please open a ticket on our website.

    Let me know.

    Regards.

Thanks, I didn’t realise what manage_options was for… All seems to be working as expected now, thank you.
