My NextGen galleries aren’t working, so as recommended, I rolled my site back to 5.6. I keep getting the error that says I’m using 7.1.12 or 7.0.26. I’ve deactivated and reactivated the plugin, cleared my cache on both the site and my browser, and can’t come up with a fix.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Additionally, when I go to reactivate the plugin, it tells me I am not allowed to access this page. However, when I navigate to another page and back to plugins, it’s activated (albeit with the same PHP error). Not sure if that means anything.

Are you sure that PHP 5.6 is activated? There are a few plugins you can install to check the current php version, or create a phpinfo file on your server and see there. Perhaps your htaccess file is still forcing php 7?

@paytonstray – As suggested by @aeternal, this may be a case where you are still using the problematic version of PHP.

Try this plugin to check: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/display-php-version/

    Thanks!

Hey all – We’ve been working on this and finally have a work around for the PHP bug.

The following copy of NextGEN 2.2.20 should run with any version of PHP (including the bugged versions: 7.0.26, 7.1.12, 7.2RC6, and 7.2.0). Feel free to give it a try and let us know if you have issues.

We’d like to get a few confirmations before we release it officially.
