@akvamary We reviewed the screenshots you provided, and it looks like in the first two that what occurred is the settings under Yoast SEO>Search Appearance>Homepage & Posts page changed from allowing you to edit the Title and Meta Description on that page, to only containing the links to the edit screens for those pages in the text of ‘You can determine the title and description for the homepage by editing the homepage itself’.

Can you please confirm whether that is correct?

As for the third and fourth screenshots you provided, we weren’t entirely sure what the issue was you were trying to illustrate. Can you please provide further clarification on the issues you are seeing in those?

The WordPress theme settings do not list a single page as the home page for displaying recent posts, but the Yoast SEO plugin displays the message “You can define the title and description for the home page by editing the page itself.” At the same time, when you click on the link “by editing the page itself”, the transition to this page does not occur. How can you specify the Title and Description for the main page in this case?

    Hey @akvamary,

Apologies for the late response, thank you for your reply.

If our plugin is not showing the title/description for the homepage fields there, it must be that a page on your site is configured to be your homepage. I can’t replicate the behavior that when “your latest posts” is set under Settings > Reading, the options are not seen under Yoast SEO → Search Appearance.

Can you temporarily switch to a default theme and check if the issue persists? If so – I’d recommend to check in a default environment with only Yoast SEO being active, you can do so with the Health Check troubleshooting mode: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/
