    Hi
I use the free Updraft plus plugin and today I needed to upload Htaccess file
    in the root directory.
When I searched for it in the updraft 5 files, I could not find it.
Could it be that Updraftplus not making a backup of the root directory?
    Please advice.

  • Hi,

To include more files you’ll have to either use More files add-on or upgrade to Premium version.

Free version doesn’t include option to include more files.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus free version only backups the files within the “wp-content” folder. You can only backup the WPcore files using the UpdraftPlus Premium version.

    Thank you for your reply.
This is a big surprise to me.
I think you should let others know about it when they pick UPDraft Plus free version
beacuse when you need to restore, it is a little too late to find out that some files are not backuped… ??

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay!

In Free version, There’s a message inside WordPress > UpdraftPlus > Settings. “The above directories are everything, except for WordPress core itself which you can download afresh from www.ads-software.com”.
