I have used the plugin for many years now, I reconnected an old blog to it, it has hundreds of articles, however, the plugin shares only the last 10 or 12 posts over and over.

Plugin used to go all the way back to 2006 and now it doesn’t, I share every 8 hours, and the plugin is reposting the same link every couple days.

Is this normal?

Hey @myuption,

Thank you for using ROP!

First, you should make sure the Share More Than Once? option is not checked.

Then, can you please let us know what limits you set for the post age? It may also have some implications in this case.

Thanks, I will disable that.

I set it to share content after 60 days. I have tried 30 and 45 days.

Hello, after 6 days I got this error.

Error encountered
No posts are available to share for your account. Try activating the Share more than once option or changing the minimum and maximum post age setting to widen the pool of available posts”

I have +1900 posts, why the plugin stop working? I disabled “Share more than once” Minimum Post Age is 30, that is meant to not share last month posts, right?

Thanks

Hi @myuption,

Yes, setting the minimum post age to 30 means that posts created in the last month won’t be shared.

Disabling the “Share more than once” option can be a problem only if all of your posts were already shared once. Based on the description of the issue, the plugin doesn’t share posts due to the conditions not being matched. You can temporarily enable the “Share more than once” again, and if this resolves the problem, it means the plugin already shared all the posts on this website.

For sharing the articles from 2006, you can make sure to configure the Maximum Post Age at a higher value, such as 3650.

I hope this will help.

If I set it up to share more than once, it does it, bus keeps posting over and over the last posts on the blog, doesn’t go back and share different content.

Max Post Age is premium feature. The plugin used to work really well, or maybe this is how it is supposed to work now..

Hi @myuption,

Can you please confirm the version of the plugin on your site? The latest version is 9.0.26 so please update if you are using an older version.

I have Version 9.0.26, a second site also has this behavior, also an old blog.

Hi @myuption,

Is there any error in the sharing log? If yes, please share a screenshot.

We are not aware of such an issue. However, you can try rolling back to the previous version and check if it helps. Here is a guide: https://docs.revive.social/article/458-if-new-version-doesnt-work.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi @myuption,

Thank you for the screenshot. Please rollback to previous versions and let me know which one works for you.

I already tried to rollback to several versions and it still doesn’t work as usual.

Today I updated, and dared to change the Minimum Post Age to “365” with “Share more than once” enabled.

I got this error:

[06/06/2024 20:22:08] [error] No posts are available to share for your account. Try activating the Share more than once option or changing the minimum and maximum post age setting to widen the pool of available posts.

I read a couple posts with a similar issue.

Hope you can find what might be wrong.

Thanks
