    Hello,
I would like to place on the homepage a widget, which shows a different image from a Picasa album every time the page is reloaded.
    How do I do that?
Also, I don’t understand how to work the widget at all. I have an album I want to use for an image in the widget, and I put in the photo ID, but it says in the widget (on the page)”No photos found for specified shortcode”.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    I figured it out. ??
However, a question I don’t seem to find an answer to: how do I link the widget to a page on my site?
    Thank you for your assistance.

The widget thumbnail will link to an expanded view of the image, just like the shortcode. There isn’t an option to link it to a page on your site.

    Ok, understood, thank you.
Is there a way to link the title above the image to a page or post?

Sorry, no. Supporting that would mean adding another field, and I feel like the Shashin widget form is already too complicated (and the WordPress widget form also doesn’t let you enter html, so you can’t type in your own link tag.)

    Mike,
Thank you for the reply, I understand.
If you ask me – the addition of another field is not going to make it any more complicated than it already is. And it is the logical choice for visitors, as well as for website owners, that widgets point to some place (page or post), so perhaps you should think on changing that.
Perhaps you have an idea how one can make a whole widget linked to some place?
    Thank you again for assistance,

    Mike,
The other day the pugin has updated, and all the images have changed their style. I don’t quite know how and why. Is that normal? how do I return them to the styling they had before? I don’t see any options afor styling in the pugin.
When I say styling I mean the way the albums and photos look.
    Thanks,

Hi Vera – There are a lot of changes to the HTML and CSS in the new version, in order to make Shashin responsive (i.e. so it looks good on any size display, including mobile). As part of the update, I gave the thumbnails a new look. With some CSS work it probably can be customized to look fairly similar to the old style. I can probably find some time to do that next week if you like.

    Mike,
    I understand. Thank you.
Oh, and now the album thumbnails on the gallery page load in the normal size and then immediately shrink to a very small one. No idea how to fix that.
Yes, I realy liked the white frame around the pictures with the thin black border, and the square around, though that is not a must. I understand how it is done, I even see the CSS code for it – but not the class in the code… While I can work some CSS, changes in the code are mostly bsyond my abilities.
    Thank you,
    Vera

Can you give me a link to where your thumbnails are shrinking? I’ll take a look. Also, please copy-and-paste here the shortcode you are using for them.

    Oh, sorry, another question:
In the PrettyPhoto all the buttons show also their names in a word, right by the button. It is unnecessary and frankly, just clutters the screen. How to turn it off? IT doesn’t happen in FancyBox.

    (@toppa)

That should not be happening with prettyPhoto – please let me know what browser you are using.

    Sure, here is the page:
    https://masorti-kfarvradim.org.il/masorti/?page_id=158
    The shortcode is:
    [shashin type=”album” id=”11,9,10,7,5,3,8,4″ size=”small” crop=”n” columns=”max” caption=”y” order=”date” position=”center”]
And it is generated by the plugin.

    Chrome, it says version 29.0.1547.66

I changed the setting to PrettyPhoto, so you can see.

For the thumbnail size, the new version is trying to find a compromise between the size you want, and the number of columns you want (columns=”max” means as many columns as possible). So you are getting 5 columns, and the thumbnails are being shrunk. If you change columns=”max” to something like columns=”3″, then the thumbnails will be bigger.

I’m not sure why the text is showing up in prettyPhoto like that. prettyPhoto uses a css technique to hide that text by giving it a really big indent, pushing it off the screen. It doesn’t appear to be overridden on your site, but it’s not working either. So I’m not sure why that’s happening. But there is a better way to do it anyway – I will make an update later today or tomorrow that should fix it.
